Ending Homelessness

Phoenix CDS Plays Vital Role in Launch of New Interim Shelter Program

Phoenix CDS partnered with the Heart of Illinois United Way, the Homeless Continuum of Care, and the Salvation Army to launch a new Interim Shelter Program to fill a gap in the area’s existing homeless services.   Funded by OSF HealthCare, the program provides transitional housing for single men. Onsite case management services are provided by Phoenix CDS to help individuals overcome their barriers to finding and securing the permanent housing that will end their homelessness.

At the Peoria City Council meeting on February 27, Mayor Ardis issued a proclamation recognizing the efforts of the Heart of Illinois Homeless Continuum of Care and its partners in the establishment of a comprehensive interim housing system for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Peoria area.
