The South Side Office of Concern is reborn as Phoenix Community Development Services.

New Name, New Brand

The South Side Office of Concern has been undergoing a re-branding process to identify a new name and brand that better reflects the organization and its values.  The agency held an event on Tuesday, April 30 at their Glendale Commons Housing in Peoria to share the new name, tagline, and logo with the community.  The new name, Phoenix Community Development Services and new tagline, Changing Perspectives, Providing Solutions, more effectively communicate the current scope of the agency’s work and its role as a leader and innovator.

CEO Christine Kahl states, “Our new brand honors our organization’s history.  Phoenix House was one of our earliest housing programs and launched our housing development efforts.  The new name also connects our past to our future by highlighting the agency’s recent focus on community development.  The tagline, Changing Perspectives, Providing Solutions, speaks to our agency’s commitment to finding new, innovative ways to address community needs.  The phoenix image symbolizes overcoming obstacles, something we help those we serve do each and every day.â€

The agency was lead through the re-branding process by the marketing firm, Gelia.  Senior Account Executive, Bill Shaner says, “We loved working with Phoenix Community Development Services to help create a new name and logo. The great work they are doing helping find people homes and working to end homelessness is an easy thing to get behind. The phoenix is an apt visual.  It really shows how their organization helps people at low points in their lives rise… like a phoenix… to overcome their challenges.â€

The event was covered by WMBD Radio, WMBD TV, and the Peoria Journal Star.
